The Minimal City Bag

My style has always been quite casual and laid back.. sneakers and jeans are usually the base of any outfit I wear. However, these last few months I've been making a conscious effort to explore the more feminine and put-together side of my style. This little transition was the reason I was so excited when I found the Zara minimal city bag, a structured nude satchel that is very reminiscent of the Celine belt bag.

I've loved the belt bag ever since I saw it, it's a little more mature looking than a shapeless cross-body bag but still easy to style for everyday outfits. Unfortunately, a Celine bag isn't easy to get my hands on, which made this Zara alternative a huge releif! I'd definitely recommend it. It's really soft and looks a lot more expensive than it actually is! Another plus is that it holds my 13" Macbook, a feature that I can't attribute to most of my other bags.

For my first outfit with the city bag, I opted for a silk button down camisole from Boohoo, chunky heels from Public Desire, a white duster coat from Forever 21, and some vintage Levi's. In order to keep this outfit true to my style I decided to wear the most worn-in pair of jeans I have, I think the mix of heels and jeans always ends up looking really cool.

White Sandals + Ruffles

Happy Sunday! Today's outfit post is one I'm super happy with- I've ventured out of my typical casual style and gone for some more feminine and dressed-up look, and the best part is that it's super affordable. I've been loving Public Desire shoes for almost a year now, they have yet to dissapoint me with anything I've ordered from them and their prices are amazing. I also love this top form Sheinside, the ruffles are hard to tame in the wind but it's such a unique style it's worth it.

Summer Stripes

If you've followed my style for a while now you know that I love Isabel Marant. As far as clothing goes, she is my all time favorite designer. Every collection she releases is different from the previous one and stands alone in its originality and influence. Her FW15 collection has to be my favorite, it was full of her signature feminine textures and shilloettes, but had overtones of military influence.

My favorite piece from the collection was the Haeza dress, a long sleeve striped sweater dress that ended up gracing the front of almost all of my favorite street style sites. Unfortunately I never got my hands on the dress, but my friends at Genuine People were kind enough to help me find this similar version! Of course nothing beats the real thing, but I love the fit of this sweater dress and the extra long sleeves are super unique.

The Benefits of a Clothing Rack

When I first moved into my apartment, I bought a clothing rack simply because I didn't have enough room in my closet. I didn't think it would change the way I styled outfits or add anything to the decor aspect to my space at all. A year later I now have a huge appreciation for them, and I'll tell you why. For starters, they look awesome in a studio-style apartment because they add a personalized touch to the room.

Unlike a closet which hides your personal style, a clothing rack puts it on display for constant inspiration. When I have my favorite pieces out in the open, I can't forget about them. It makes it easy to remember what you have so you don't buy repetitive things, and it makes choosing an outfit much easier. The rack also gives me the ability to visualize what direction my style is going in color wise, and gives me bearing on the colors I want to use in my upcoming posts.

This month I decided to get a new rack because the original one I had didn't have a shoe rack and would sway if it had too many hangers on it. I found this one on Amazon for only $40, it's a great design and stands up strong even with 6 pairs of shoes, 4 bags, 2 hats, and tons of clothes on it! I would definitely recommend it, especially if you have some extra room in your place and are looking for a way to individualize it.

Blanco // Styling All White Outfits

photos via Kayture, Glamspire, Fashiontasty, Sincerely Jules, Aelida, and Just The Design
Spring / summer is the perfect season to try something new and daring. The weather is just right, and there are plenty of events happening within a short span of time. One of my favorite trends this year is a head-to-toe all white outfit. The idea is pretty intimidating, not to mention you have to be hyper-conscious of stains, but it's definitely worth a try. Above I chose 6 all white looks that I think nailed the trend in different ways.

If your style is sophisticated and classic, you can try out the trend by wearing a white button up with tapered pants, minimalist heels, and a blazer draped over your shoulders (shout out to Cara). If you dress on the casual side, you can go for some ripped up white denim, adidas sneakers, a crewneck tee and a backpack.

Here are some sets I've put together over the last month covering this trend! Enjoy xx
