Trend Report: The Chloe Faye Bag

This years 'it' bag is undeniably the Chloe Faye. Celebrities, street style stars, bloggers, and models alike have styled this bag in countless ways, through all four seasons. During the past few years, big / shapeless satchel bags had taken over, so the Faye is a breath a fresh air with it's dainty details and structured shape.

Check out some of my favorite versions of the faye + some ways I'd style them below! xx

Greyscale // FLC x Necessary Clothing

I am so excited to be working with the store Necessary Clothing this fall. I loved their entire autumn collection, it was difficult for me to choose which pieces to style! The first piece I picked is this grey wrap top. It's a great middle ground between a formal button down and a flowy tee.

The older I become, the more I understand the importance of how clothes fit me and the way they fall on my body. Wrap tops and draped dresses are super flattering, and look amazing paired with some over the knee boots or high heels.

I kept my outfit very simple and true to my style with some ripped Zara biker jeans, Primark over-the-knee boots, and my favorite top handle bag by Linea Pelle. Lately I've been loving rings, bracelets and watches so I decided to wear a bunch of those too.

The Outerwear Series: Printed Coats

If you know me, you know that I love Isabel Marant. I can never choose a favorite designer but she is definitely in my top 3. She has a magical way of designing pieces that are stunningly elegant while maintaining a comfortable, cozy element. The Adil coat from her Fall 2014 was everything I love in a coat: longline, sweater-like and hooded (with pockets too!). I am definitely not in the place to drop $2,000 on a striped coat though, so I left it as one of those 'inspiration only' pieces.. forever lingering as an unrealistic tab on my laptop.

However this fall, fast-fashion superhero Forever 21 came to my rescue! They released this coat which is clearly 'inspired' (somewhat copied! haha) by the Adil coat for only $40, a price that seems a little more doable. I'm quite impressed with the quality of it too, the fabric is thick enough for the chilly Boston fall, and maybe a little into the winter with some serious layering.

I chose to pair the coat with some Zara moto jeans from last season (rips by me), my ps11 bag and some Mango sneakers. Sadly these exact items aren't available anymore but I've linked some awesome alternatives below! xxx Flo

Trend Report // Platform Oxfords

One of the most polarizing trends this season is the platform oxford. These shoes were popularized by Stella McCartney and are now popping up all over fast fashion stores, street style blogs, celebrity shots and more. Like most trends, I was a bit skeptical of them, but over the last few months they've really grown on me! Emily Ratajkowski has worn the Stella McCartney pair a few different times and the styling was always flawless. I think the most important thing to remember when styling these shoes is to keep the rest of your outfit very simple and let the shoes stand out.

here are some of my favorite looks with platform oxfords!

...and here are some ways I'd style them myself!

Kit + Ace Comes to Boston // Newbury Street Opening

On Thursday night I went to the Kit + Ace Launch Party on Newbury Street. I hadn't heard of the up-and-coming brand until my friend Melina told me about it, and I was thoroughly impressed with the pieces I saw! When I walked I could see floor to ceiling clothes, both women's and men's, and they all maintained a cohesive tone and style. From casual classics like the casual white tee and the long sleeve turtleneck to a few on trend pieces like the black zip up bomber, they covered all of my style bases.

Later on in the night Aluna George performed a set, and I was lucky enough to score a front row spot! I love her music, it's the perfect vibe for getting energized at the start of the day or letting go on a Friday night (or a Thursday night in this case)! Back when I went to NYFW with Polyvore, I got to see Aluna do a set during the Rebecca Minkoff show.. she's become a real superstar, especially in the fashion world. Here are some photos I snapped during her performance:

Buffalo Check + Lowlands

outfit via instagram @Florencia95
Over-the-knee boot season is back! It seems like this style just started to gain momentum last fall / winter and is really in full swing this year. I waited all summer to finally be able to wear my Stuart Weitzman Lowland boots again, they're one of my most unique pairs of shoes but still very versatile at the same time. I chose to pair them with a buffalo check print shirt dress (full post up on buffalo check here!) and my Stella bag. I absolutely love the look of over-the-knee boots with any kind of printed mini / shirt dress.

Trend Report // Skinny Scarves

When I think of a scarf, the first thing that comes to my mind is staying warm on a cold winter day. Most of my scarves have that situation covered... but this new type of scarf, the skinny scarf, is strictly for style purposes. I've seen these scarves draped around the necks of runway models, street style stars and celebs alike, and I must say: I'm into it!

Although they're lacking in the practicality department, I love how chic and sophisticated they look paired with an all black outfit. Last month Selena Gomez's black skinny scarf + black dress combo got me hooked. Luckily I didn't have to track down the designer scarf she was wearing, because I found this amazing scarf from Zara! It's a velvet skinny scarf that is super long and perfect for achieving this look (and only 16 dollars!).

I can't wait to style it on my blog, many outfits to come :) until then, here are some polyvore sets I've created in the last couple weeks styling the skinny scarf! Let me know what you think of the trend in a comment! xx Flo
