Pups + Pleats

If you would have asked me over the summer, "What will you be wearing in October?", my answer probably wouldn't include a crop top and shorts. Surprisingly, these pieces actually can transition into the fall if you get the right ones! I love this pom pom jumper from Minkpink, it's such a fun take on the cropped style. These pleated shorts had been my go-to all summer, but I also love the look of them with tights and boots. I guess the whole moral of this outfit is; think outside the box when it comes to the season! Maybe instead of buying a whole new Autumn / Winter wardrobe, try layering up some summer items... you never know until you try right? xx Flo

My favorite fall trends!

Untitled #6259

 Fur Pieces
This first trend is probably my favorite. I love mixing textures
and I think that fur (or faux fur in my case) always looks amazing
on top of a knit top or paired with some dark wash denim.
It's perfect to make your outfit more detailed, and even the
smallest piece gives you a more bundled up look! I don't know if
I'll ever be daring enough to wear a fur coat, but accents like this
cossack from topshop are a great replacement for a plain beanie.

Untitled #6258

Colored Leather
Everyone knows that leather is must have for this season, but lately I have seen it in some unlikely colors! From burgundy to navy, colored leather can take a classic piece and make it into a statement. I am completely in love with this navy pleated skirt by Alice + Olivia, I'd pair it with a dark grey knit sweater and a suede biker jacket to keep the cool colors. For a less daring way to wear this trend, go for a colored satchel bag like this one from the Cambridge Satchel Company.

Untitled #6257
Tartan
Tartan is definitely the print of this fall! I think it can be
styled in so many different ways, from polished to biker casual.
To make this print more casual, pair it with some distressed
jeans and your favorite satchel. It also looks awesome with a
leather vest and some ankle booties!

Pinafore fun!

Today I opted for something a little more fun and edgy than my last post, a velvet pinafore with some buckle boots! I love this ASOS piece so much, it's completely versatile (seriously, I have tried pairing it with every top I own and it works). Though there were many possibilities for what to wear with it, I chose a topshop cropped tee and my new favorite hat! Hope you like it! xx Flo

Rainy day diary

I've woken up terribly under the weather the past few days, so the rain outside is pretty comforting. Although there is nothing fun about being sick, I do love just laying in bed and listening to music mixed with the muffled sound of rain. It's always nice to recharge and relax sometimes, especially when there is a lot on your mind. Here are a few snaps I took that describe my day perfectly. xx Flo

Question tag!

I was tagged to do these questions by http://wonderlandwaterfall.blogspot.co.nz/ :)

1. If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
I think I'd probably like to have the superpower of being able to turn into an animal, HP style.

2. Would you use it for good, or for evil?
Probably neither, I imagine I'd just turn into a cat and sleep.

3. If you could come home and have one product sitting on your bed, what would it be?
Probably a Burberry leather jacket. Or a new bike (but I'm not sure if I want that on my bed).

4. What is your favourite band?
Of all time it's a tie between the Beatles and Nirvana.

5. Have you finished schooling yet?
No, I only just graduated high school!

6. What is your birthday?
July 6th, 1995

7. Who are your fashion icons?
Eleanor Calder, Miranda Kerr, Danielle Bernstein, Alexa Chung, Blake Lively and Emma Watson.

8. Do you have a blog lovin?
Yes I do! The links on the right side of my blog.

9. McDonalds or Burger King?
Definitely McDonalds. Burger King is the worst.

10. Cats or dogs?
Well I have a pet dog so I guess I have to say dogs (cats are cute too though).

My fall music playlist!

Fall is by far my favorite season, mostly because of all the small things. I love all of the colors associated with fall, and the feeling you get when you can walk outside in your favorite cardigan and just relax. For some reason I tend to listen to different kinds of music at different times in the year, and my fall music playlist always has a bunch of oldies and acoustic-driven sounds. Maybe there is something about fall that makes me reminisce about when I was a kid, or maybe it's just the natural autumn vibe that goes well with stripped down love songs. Either way, here are my picks for fall and I highly recommend listening to at least one of them! xx Flo

Favorites for this week!

All links are here.

This week I've been loving so many things, I thought it was only appropriate to share them with you guys! I hope you like them, and let me know what your favorites are :) xx Flo

1. Food - Strawberry smoothies. This summer I've tried to stick to drinking mostly water, but lately I've been drinking smoothies along with my breakfast. They're so refreshing and filling. I love to try out different mixtures of fruits too.

2. Shoes -Commes Des Garcons came out with a Converse collaboration, and once I saw blogger Danielle Bernstein and Eleanor Calder wearing them I couldn't resist. I love how understated they are and their unique design.

3. Clothes - My topshop dunagrees. Of course it's no surprise that I've been loving my dungarees all summer, but this pair in particular is my favorite. I love how they fit as well as the wash of them, and I can definitely see myself wearing these in the fall time with a jumper and brogues!

4. Music - Ariana Grande's new album + The Love Club by Lorde. First off, I am incredibly impressed by Ariana's new album called Yours Truly. Her voice surpasses most singers her age, and is definitely unexpected coming from her Nickelodeon background. She's a real talent; after rinsing her album I'm sad I missed her show in Boston! As for Lorde, I know that she's completely blown up in the last month or so, and I'm definitely going to jump on the bandwagon. I love her songs The Love Club and Royals. Royals has gotten some major radio play and it's refreshing to see such a raw track on top 40!

5. Accessories - My rose gold fossil watch. I usally don't wear much jewelry (apart from my tiffanys necklace) but I've been eyeing wearing this watch quite a lot this week. I love rose gold, and the silver rim around the face makes it so versatile!

6. Beauty - Marc Jacobs foundation and Tarte mascara. When I first found out that Marc Jacobs had a beauty line at Sephora, I knew I had to check it out. All of the packaging is so beautiful and the foundation is amazing so far (I'll be doing a full review once I've worn it for a while). I also fell for the Tarte Lights, Camera, Flashes mascara. I usually mascara that is intended for a natural look, but this mascara gives your lashes a lot of volume which is a nice change.
