Birthday Wish List!

As you may or may not know, my birthday is coming up in about a month! I've put together a wishlist of some things I've been lusting after for a bit. By no means will I get all of it, it's just something I decided to put together to give my friends and family some sort of outline x

The minute I saw this blazer, it stood out to me as something that would be really versatile for my wardrobe. I think it would look amazing for going to my internship with a pair a of white shorts and a cami with sandals, or at night with a LBD and some strappy heels!

It's not exactly news that I am head over heels in love with jumpsuits (especailly topshop ones), but this blush toned all-in-one is just the epitome of sophistication! I'd love to rock this to a dinner with friends or a day at my internship with my alexa and the topshop katz shoes.
I can't get enough of this brand! Their dresses are so fun and unique, especially this fluted-sleeve smock dress! This is one of the highest items on my list, I'd love to wear it on a day off to go on an adventure with my friends!

As much as I wish I could wear layers and jumpsuits all summer, the Boston heat just won't allow it. I love how these little playsuits have a put together look to them without having to suffocate under pants and dress shirts!

These trousers look amazing with a plain silk cami and oxfords! I love how they are so thin and soft, they'll be perfect for running around Boston.

After finding out that the lovely Eleanor Calder uses these / seeing Tanya Burr's makeup tutorial, the YSL Touche Eclat foundation and concealer is a must! I have never found my "holy grail" makeup routine and from all the rave reviews these have been given, I hope this is it! I mostly stick to a BB Cream but this foundation is said to have very light coverage so there shouldn't be too much of a difference.

I have always loved the look of the iconic Ray-Ban glasses, but for some reason I never got around to owning a pair. Obviously they're not exactly a small purchase, so when looking for a new pair of sunnies I continually opted for a pair from H&M or Urban Outfitters. Lately I've been itching to just go for it and get one pair of RB's to call my own and wear to death, but I can't choose between a pair of the aviators or the clubmasters.

8. iPhone
I know what you're thinking, "You don't have an iPhone?!?". Sadly, it's true. I have been waiting ages to get a new one and I am currently living with a pantech phone that does nothing but texting (ultimate first world problem, I'm aware). For someone who is addicted to social media, I just need this phone in my life. Not to mention that the newest model, the iPhone 5 is one of the best yet!

So that's everything on my wishlist! Let me know what you think :) xx -Flo

Suit Up!

I am loving these jumpsuits for S/S. From a nude pink color to wild elephant print, these jumpsuits are coming full force. Everyone wants to stand out with their summer wardrobe, and these are a guaranteed eye magnet. Although at first glance they seem unwearable, they can be styled with minimal and understated pieces to keep all of the focus on the jumpsuit. For a simple, day out with friends i'd pair one of these printed all-in-ones with a pair of woven sandals, aviators and a belt (belts are key, because without them you will lose any definition in your waist)! If you're looking for a night look, I'd pair a solid colored one with a sheer collared top and a pair of leather brogues. Another great way to show these off is with a bold blazer or moto jacket. They can add a sophisticated or rocker edge effortlessly. Replace your LBD with these and you'll automatically get best dressed.

Here are some amazing examples of a jumpsuit done right. From Kristen Stewart's slicked back hair to Vanessa Hudgens' minimal accessories, these ladies let their amazing jumpsuits speak for themselves.

I know florals for Spring / Summer are always a given, but I like to use them subtly in outfits instead of going full force. I think that a small piece with the print can actually use it to it's best effect instead of wearing floral from head to toe. Here is a set I put together to show how I'd wear florals!

Topshop Order!

Who doesn't love getting their topshop dotted bag in the mail? It's probably one of the most exciting things to see when I check. Recently I did a pretty big shippment, with things ranging from total summer items (like dungarees and vest tops) to a big coat for winter. Here are a few of my favorite items I got for summer, I thought I'd share them with you all! x

IKEA love.

This past week I have been in Colorado for my sisters graduation festivities, and as we were leaving I noticed something on the side of the highway...

IKEA! I have heard so much about this store from bloggers and friends but I have actually never stepped foot inside one. Everyone I know raves about it and how fun it is inside (not to mention the 500 days of summer scene inside). Sadly, I didn't have time to stop in because of all the things happening, but I will hopefully be going to my local store sometime this month! I have always looked through the catalogs and they're so impressive, I love the way that they really bring all of their items to life with their interior design.

I put this set together with some of the things I hope to get! My #1 item is this floral bedspread, I am utterly obsessed.

Summer Nail Favorites!

To go along with my recent "summer themed" posts, I have decided to do a post dedicated to my favorite summer nail colors! Every year when summer rolls around, Essie has the most lovely pastels and brights that go perfect with the sunny weather.

Essie has always been one of my favorite nail polish brands ever since I discovered them in the 8th grade. Their polishes hardly ever chip and not many coats are needed for each time I use them, not to mention the packaging is to die for!

This first pink is called "Mod Square". In my opnion, every girl needs (at least) one pink nail polish in her collection, and this one is the perfect brightness for a summer afternoon.

This next polish is a glitter top coat called "Set in Stones". I love how the chunks of glitter are very big so you can either leave a few for a subtle look or layer them for a more dramatic nighttime look.

This particular polish is my current obsession. It's called "Allure" and is the perfect summer color. The light ivory color looks amazing against a tan and brings out the colors in whatever outfit you're wearing.

Lastly one of my all time favorites; "Turquoise & Caicos". I have repurchased this polish 3 times! It is probably owned by every beauty blogger but rightfully so! I love how it looks with a white dress and sandals or a black playsuit and wedges.

Jungle Fever!

I have been loving the safari / jungle prints recently! They are the epitome of summer, and look can transform any simple outfit to a festive and fun look. My summer outfits usually consist of a simple tee and shorts, but add a pair of jungle print shorts and it is instantly unique.

This topshop print is killer! Links are here.

These pieces are so versatile, they can be transformed into a casual day outfit or even a party outfit. This jumpsuit is especially lovely, I can see it being worn with a pair of tennies and a satchel for a day out shopping. These high waisted shorts with a cropped high neck tank and wedges with a clutch for a nighttime look.

One of my favorite bloggers, Kim (of lovecloth) wears
this jumpsuit in an adorable way!

Summer Jams.

Every year when summer comes around I am always looking for a new playlist. There is just something special about "summer songs" that has always made each year a little different for me. To me, a summer song is something you can listen to in the car on the way to the beach or on a late night with friends. I've put together my summer playlist to give you all some ideas! if you have any songs you think I should check out leave them in a comment x

My Main Beauty Crush!

Selena Gomez, obviously. For years Selena has been one of the most iconic beauties for this generation, but lately I have been especially obsessed with her look. Selena and I have a similar heritage and our features and skin color are very similar. Whenever I am looking for inspiration makeup or hair wise I will always look to her. She has always been someone who looks amazing, rocking her short bob or crazy long waves. I love how recently she has evolved into the ultimate brunette bombshell, with her long beautiful hair. In the Come and Get it music video (x), she looks more amazing than ever. As far as the makeup category goes, Selena impresses there too. It doesn't matter if she's wearing a simple, everyday nude lip and mascara or if she is going for a dark red ip with bold eyeliner. She always looks young and fresh with a sexy edge, and knows what products accentuate her natural beauty. As someone with a medium skin tone, Selena plays that up with a bit of bronzer and full brows with neutral shadows for her classic look.

Some of my favorite looks of Selena's! (Come and Get it video look

Here is a little set I put together that has the main elements in Selena's signature makeup look!

My Fashion Inspiration!

Ever since I started blogging about style, I have always gotten one question. "Who / what inspires you?". Although there isn't simply one thing I draw all my inspiration from, I have narrowed my main influences down over the past few months to three amazing girls! I look up to all of them and they all have very unique taste.

As most people who have been following me know, Eleanor Calder is my main inspiration for everything style related. She never fails to look amazing, from her casual looks with an oversized knit and jeans or her formal jumpsuits with cutout shoes. Her style plays with feminine and classic elements so well and she has never been a slave to trends which I love. Eleanor is probably the reason I love topshop so much too, maybe too much!

Out of all the models street style, I think Miranda Kerr definitely takes the cake. Her pieces look amazing (past the fact that she is one of the most beautiful women ever) because of the way she pairs them. Miranda stays true to her classic and minimal look, with amazing staple bags, oversized sunnies and killer denim.

Lastly, Alexa Chung. For anyone infatuated with British style, you know where I'm coming from. To me, Alexa has captured the quintessential London look with her amazing use of oxford shoes and shirts, shift dresses and classic chanel bags. Her look has always been so unique to me and I love how she doesn't follow trends, she starts them.

My top 5 favorite items for summer!

Last summer when I first saw maxi skirts I wasn't a fan of them at all! I thought that they looked too covered-up and boring, and were too plain. Lately I have seen some amazing looks with them which changed my mind completely and I am obsessed. They come in so many different textures, from pleated to sheer to different styles like high waisted and hi-low. I can see myself wearing a thin white one to cover up at the beach or a sheer black one with wedges for a night out.

Roll neck tops have come back with a vengeance this summer and I love it! They are the same comfort level as a tank top but are 10 times more fashion forward. Pairing these with a plain skater skirt or patterned trousers would be an amazing look.

Boyfriend jeans, boyfriend jeans, boyfriend jeans. Like the maxi skirts I have really disliked boyfriend jeans until this year. They always seemed way too manly and unflattering to me, but after purchasing a pair from H&M my opinion has totally shifted! I love how they look contrasted with a feminine top and tennis shoes, or dressed up with a light coat and a graphic top. These jeans look especially good if you are tall, and they elongate your legs even more!

I have always been in love with everything denim, but this summer I'm especially loving denim dresses. In the summer light wash denim is a must-have, and these dresses use that in a very unexpected way. I think with a pair of wayfarers and a bootie these dresses would be a hit!

Last but definitely not least, dungarees! Ever since I saw these on Danielle Bernstein and Eleanor Calder I have been head over heels. They come in so many different styles from allover denim, to printed, to a more formal playsuit material. These would be perfect for a party to stand out from everyone in dresses.

Mulberry Alexa Review!

If you have been following me for a while, you know that I have been in love with the mulberry Alexa bag for almost a year. It's the perfect mix of a satchel and a the menswear briefcase bags that are everywhere right now. There is nothing better than a black staple bag that you can take everywhere from class to a night out. This specific one caught my eye on net-a-porter because of it's oversized, slouchy look. The relaxed feel of the material mixed with the shiny gold hardware really gives it a classic feel which I can't get enough of. The obvious question is, how can someone my age get such a "grown up" or "mature bag"? This bag is a bit of a transitional piece for me, especially since I have just graduated from high school. I wanted something that was more sophisticated because I see my style progressing in that direction. This bag is probably one of the most amazing gifts I've ever received and I know I'll keep it until I'm in a nursing home!
Here it is! My specific version is called
the "Oversized Alexa in Soft Buffalo"

Here are some of the items I am really excited to pair with my Alexa! I think that a simple denim shirt dress and chelsea boots would look incredible with the Alexa, especially with some ray-bans for summer! In the winter I'd love to wear it with a boyfriend coat, cream knit, dark jeans and a chelsea boot for a relaxed, yet put together look.

Graduation outfits!

Hello Everyone! This week I am on vacation for my sister's college graduation. I took advantage of her lovely campus / her photography skills to get a couple outfit pictures. I have been really into maxi skirts lately, especially with cropped sweaters and tees! It's a great look that requires almost no effort.

I love the look of shift / shirt dresses for formal occasions. They are sophisticated and fun, not to mention very unique! I got plenty of compliments on my Katz shoes from topshop too, a very interesting take on a cutout flat.

My Room!

I love to keep out my most recent shoe purchases so I can see them when I get
dressed! It's a great way to visualize outfits when you're getting ready.
I love having visual inspiration, so having this board right across from my bed
is perfect to start off the day on a positive note!
I'm not sure exactly why, but something about little lights is so calming to me.
I love this jewelery hanger I was recently given!
I keep a lot of things on my dresser; one of my favorite fossil watches and
my perfume of the moment "Wonderstruck" by Taylor Swift!
Here is where I spend most of my time blogging, pillow pet and headphones included.
Here is where I keep some of the books I've been reading lately / my favorites!
I have always loved reading ever since I was little so it's nice to have an
area where I can indulge in reading.
Here's where I keep all my makeup! At the moment I'm obsessed with pixi
concealer and revlon just bitten kissables.

Close up of my nail polishes! I'm a bit obsessed.
Here's where I keep my outfit for the following day and my favorite topshop hats!
